About Me
Originally from Maryland, I moved to Las Vegas more than 20 years ago to begin my career as a social worker. I knew from an early age that I wanted to be in a “helping profession”. I completed my Bachelors in Psychology and chose to complete a Masters in Social Work to provide what I believed would be a wider breadth of knowledge and a more comprehensive educational experience. I started my career working with adults living with severe mental illness and adults with intellectual disabilities. I went on to work with children placed in foster care and adults and families involved with child protective services, which is where I completed licensure to also become an alcohol and drug addictions counselor. When I later started my family, I returned to working solely with adults in the private therapy arena through the University of Nevada.
During the Covid shut down, I made the difficult decision to take time off to focus on the health and education of my children. As we began to return to our new normal following the pandemic, I chose to transition to tele-health. Although I miss the in-person aspect of the therapeutic relationship, I quickly realized the benefits of this platform in the accessibility it provided to my clients with their very busy lives.
When I am not working or spending time with my teenagers, I enjoy hiking with my dogs, sitting with my rabbits, reading, exercising, and trying out new recipes. I love all things outdoors and feel tremendous gratitude to reside in a place where I have the ability to enjoy being in the sunshine almost every day of the year.
